About this deal

Before bottling, the melon spirit is blended with cognac and sugar; food coloring gives it that signature green color. Midori is made with Japanese Yubari and Musk melons - Yubari melons are similar to cantaloupe melons and are a traditional Japanese gift during the summer. It brings a perfect twist to classic cocktails like fizzes, sours, collins, mojitos and pinas, but my favourite one is the margarita: the smoky flavour of the tequila, the acidity of the lime, all combined with the exotic taste of MONIN Green Melon makes a perfect blend.

They mention it's fantastic in cocktails, it has a striking green color, and is perfect for mixing cocktails that want to stand out. It mixes well with apple, citrus fruits, cranberry, raspberry, and pineapple, but will handle most other fruits, too. I'm one of those people that "doesn't like alcohol" but I've actually been enjoying this on its own - it's nice and sweet and is pretty much just like drinking melon juice, great in cocktails too. It's made by infusing melon flavour into a neutral alcohol base, and the result is a bright Green Liqueur that's bursting with flavour. The green melon is mainly and commonly consumed in Spain and can be eaten raw, cooked, candied, in juice or in a drink as liqueur.

Belonging to the Cucurbitaceae family, the green melon has an oval shape, cracked skin and can weigh up to 5 kg.

It's instantly recognizable as the bright green bottle that shines behind many bars across the world. As it is extremely sweet, Midori is not usually taken "straight"; it is generally used in a cocktail. Inn Express provides this information in good faith, but it's important to note that its accuracy and completeness depend on the suppliers.

Although Hermes Melon Liqueur was released by Suntory in Japan in 1964, it was renamed "Midori" for its release to the US market at Studio 54 in New York City in 1978 during a party held by the cast, crew, and producers of Saturday Night Fever. There's one ingredient that always seems to add a touch of summer to any drink: Green Melon Liqueur. Some drink recipes—including the famous Japanese slipper and Midori sour—use it as the base liquor, mixing it with a sweetener and citrus juice. Most of France enjoyed a long, glorious warm summer, which set wineries up for a great 2018 vintage.

It was developed by Shinjiro Torii, the founder of Suntory Japanese Whisky, and exclusively produced and available in Japan. The Creme de Melon Vert is made with ripe melons sourced from China and Honduras which are macerated in a neutral alcohol before blending with sugar to create a perfectly thick and velvety creme consistency. The bottle was re-designed in 2007 and the sugar content was reduced by 20 per cent following bartender feedback. It is, however, still very important that you let us know of any breakages once received so we can arrange replacement wine for you as quickly as possible. Useful for making spectacular green cocktails, Midori is a versatile liqueur that pairs well with a variety of flavors.

In the 2000s, the brand sought to appeal to bartenders' requests for a less sweet liqueur by reducing the sugar.
