About this deal

This glue is especially handy when securing the body of a model car to the 'bucket'/ engine compartment of the kit. As you would probably expect, there are differences in the chemical compounds used to produce these two types of cement. My only complaint about this stuff, is that the cap is too smooth and it is hard to get a grip when opening and closing. I can’t really say how it compares to actual Tamiya Extra Thin because I only ever bought one bottle of that, which I then proceeded to re-fill as per the above, but as far as I can tell it behaves exactly the same. This is due to the fact that the cement essentially melts the plastic and the parts fuse together once the chemicals evaporate. the irritating odor in Tamiya glue creates acetone, because butyl acetate smells like pear, and has the colloquial name "pear essence".The Quick Setting Extra Thin Cement cannot be used this way because it evaporates almost instantly giving you no chance to attach the parts where they belong. This version is the “quick setting” variant that dries around 4 times faster than the original Tamiya Extra Thin Cement, saving you time (and energy) holding parts in place! Furthermore, the extra thin formula allows the modeler to glue together small pieces that require pin point accuracy and finesse. The law prohibits the sale of sharp instruments, glues and solvents to anyone under the age of 18 and the sale of aerosols to anyone under the age of 16.But nowadays many companies dealing in the plastic scale modeling business have brought their own versions of extra thin cement. I changed to this glue from a tube variant because that glue was too thick, I couldn't control the amount coming out and it was seeping out of the joins. The cement cuts the amount of time used in constructing models, and has the advantage of a cleaner finish. It is also recommended that you are sure of your parts attachment and fit when using this faster setting glue. All these people mixing different chemicals together with no knowledge of what might happen worries me immensely.

Ethyl acetate is hotter than butyl acetate when it comes to melting plastic and also evaporates much more quickly.

The difference comes from those like Tamiya S, revel contacta, that work as solvents, dissolve The surfaces which are welded together as the solvent evaporates. If you did, you could use their airbrush cleaner instead, which contains the same solvents in an almost identical ratio.
