About this deal

We have reached the fifth book of The Last Dragon Chronicles series and this story might be the most exciting and suspenseful yet as a terrible danger has threatened the entire world and it is up to our favorite characters to save the day again. This time, Chris works together with his wife Jay d’Lacey and together they write this brilliant book which we are about to describe for you in our review. A Lot to Offer At the heart of the books is an environmental message--and the melting of the polar ice caps is one of the main plot turning points. For me, the idea that the dragons' return could save us relates to my own hope that human imagination can stretch us to find new ways to heal what we have been destroying. Something weird is happening at the Arctic again and a huge and mysterious mist is forming there in which all of the polar bears have disappeared and out of which was emerging a colony of huge dragons. A particular dragon called G’Orela will definitely make your reading experience with this one a lot more interesting. Return of Dragons You also get to meet another thrilling character in this book, Alexa. She is David’s daughter and the author is giving us hints that Alexa might just be the only person, who will have what it takes to bring down the mighty Gaia and save countless lives in the process. As you read this book, chapter by chapter, you also get to read a thing or two about the Arctic in every chapter as you get to find out, piece by piece, what exactly happened in this mysterious place as this knowledge still remains a mystery to many. Few Surprises

Chris D’Lacey is an English author that was born in 1954 in Valletta, Malta, though it was in places like Leicester and Bolton that he grew up. A former student of the University of York from where he studied biology, Chris started out as a songwriter. I reserve the toilet paper rating for the real stinkers, and congratulations d'Lacey, you've won a spot on my rarefied 1-star review list. My daughter, who has the discerning reading taste of a nine-year-old, said she would rate it two stars, citing the squirrels and the botched sad moments, which she thinks may be related to the fact that normal people don't hold squirrel memorials. In The Fire Eternal it has been five years since David, now a cult author, mysteriously disappeared in the Arctic. Life in Wayward Crescent has settled to relative normality. But as the weather grows wild and the ice caps melt, all eyes turn north, where bears and the souls of the Inuit dead are combining to produce a spectacular solution...a solution with its focus on David and Zanna's child, Alexa. By this time, Lucy has grown to about the age of 16, and meets a reporter named Tam Farrell who is doing an article on the author David who supposedly went missing in the arctic. At the end, David reveals that he, in fact, was not dead, but combined with the dragon, Gawain, and his fire tear. Voss is another character who will be bringing more excitement for you to read about as he is the leader of this dark army and he has a purpose that involves capturing all of the dragons for himself. The Final Battle Punctuation Shaker: Dragons are fond of the traditional apostrophe (see: Things like "G'ravity" and "G'lant"). Ix go for the exotic and rarely-seen ː, in things like Ixːrisor and Premːix. Trilogy Creep: The first three books form a definite trilogy, with a complete story, and a very definite ending. The rest do continue it, but begin a new story arc altogether.

See the dragon on the cover? Go ahead and replace him with a squirrel, and then add the metafictional element that the unapologetic author insert is writing a story about the squirrel and his squirrel friends, doing squirrel stuff. Then add an obnoxious kid obsessed with the squirrels, a jammed-in love interest, and two maudlin squirrel funerals. In later books we find that David is really a world travellor with a mission to help ressurect the dragons on earth. He enlists the help of the Pennykettles, their neighbor Henry and his girlfriend- sometimes without their permission. Meaningful Echo: In actions, the ending of Snigger and the Nutbeast mimics those of the ending of the third book. The hero (Conker/David) is dead, but there's Someone to Remember Him By. A research trip to the Arctic and a new book - life can't get much better for David Rain. As soon as David finds himself in the icy climes, he starts to write his story of bears, dragons and the mysterious fire star. Soon he realises that his tale is beginning to mirror real life and that an old adversary is on her way to meet him. Can David thwart her terrible master plan? Or will his world be destroyed forever? In July 2002 he was awarded an honorary doctorate from the University of Leicester for his contributions to children's literature. Although writing is now his main source of income, he still works at the university as the operator of the confocal microscope. The book initially opens with the introduction of a seer’s apprentice, called Agawin as there is a mysterious story following this character that will begin to unravel completely later on in the story. For the time being, you get to read about the evil Ix as they have consumed countless lifeforms and are growing a deadly army made for destruction. Dr. Bergstrom – A geography teacher at Scrubbley College. He is Scandinavian, can turn into a polar bear, and has a dragon called Groyne who can become invisible and shape-shift. He started out as a polar research scientist and met the spirit of Thoran, the first polar bear ever. People believed he was killed, but he actually became a mixture of man and polar bear. This fascinating journey starts with this first book of The Last Dragon Chronicles, in which you get to meet the main character himself, David Rain. He seems like a pretty ordinary guy, a college student who is trying to make something of himself in this world. Henry Bacon – The Pennykettles' neighbour that dies in Dark Fire from a stroke. In Icefire, he shows David the picture of his grandfather on an expedition to the Arctic. It shows his grandfather with several other people, one of whom David identifies as Dr. Bergstrom. Before his death, he often helped the Pennykettles and David. His sister is a sibyl.
