About this deal

But probably the best thing about this volume is the fact that even if you have not read “Shadowland” (and I definitely have not read “Shadowland” yet), this volume makes it easier to jump into the story without having to learn so much about “Shadowland” to completely understand the story.

I'm fascinated by the MacGuffin that Waid introduces at the end of this book, an having seen it show up in Punisher vol. I hope most readers who read Mark Waid's run to have read Daredevil in the past from other creative teams and since the consensus is strongly positive, I feel like **I** am the only one that didn't seem to enjoy it. He is best known for his work on various DC Comics titles, most notably the Superman-related titles and THE POWER OF SHAZAM! Cap needed super soldier serum to make him so formidable and Daredevil just needed chemicals to blind him.Foggy accidentally makes an insensitive remark about sight and apologizes, but artwork implies that Matt's retort to this was actually obliquely referring to his double life as Daredevil.

The latter make me actually care about these characters as more than just ciphers - as people with normal lives on top of the superheroic craziness.Later on however, Matt soon discovers that there are some mysterious crimes at work in New York City. The plot itself seemed similar to She-Hulk’s, in a way: they’re both lawyers, both now trying to integrate their superhero identities with that and having problems.

I did read (among others) some of Conway's, Gerber's, Wolfman's, Shooter's, McKenzie's, Nocenti's, D.The overall story is very coherent and does a lot with the existing relationships and building new ones. Okay, and I did read it in one go, but not enough to make me love the character (unlike, for example, Kelly Sue’s Captain Marvel or the new elements introduced to the team in Gillon’s Young Avengers, which were also Marvel Now titles).

Mark Waids' run on Daredevil is an interesting divergence for the character but one which was probably necessary in the long run. Nebulous Evil Organisation: The second arc of the Mark Waid series involves Black Spectre and rival organizations AIM, Hydra, the Secret Empire, and Agence Byzantine all gunning for DD's head. It was an idea that was explored but Marvel have clearly moved on so they should just pretend the storyline never happened and that, for this new run, everyone doesn’t know. His award-winning work with artist Alex Ross, KINGDOM COME, is one of the best-selling graphic novels of all time. This is one of the most enjoyable books I have in my collection, more than once did it put a smile on my face and when Matt just can't stay away from the ladies I found myself just thinking "Daredevil you dog you".I don't see how having super senses turns Daredevil into an outstanding athlete along the lines of Captain America. While his sense can allow him to perceive shapes around him, it's still nearly impossible for him to perceive color or other visual details (for instance, someone holding up a tablet with the image of the Jester's public identity, he can make out the shape of the tablet, but can't see what's on the screen.
