About this deal

Low Profile RAPIDFIRE Mechanical Gaming Keyboard combines the comfort of low-profile, low travel keys, with the performance of ultra-fast Cherry MX mechanical keyswitches and stunning RGB lighting. It's mainly made out of plastic, and the top plate is aluminum, giving the keyboard a better build than the Corsair K68 RGB, but the keyboard flexes a bit. Now I cannot hide the fact that I like Corsair keyboards and have been wishing a low profile one for ages. But for someone like myself it makes far more sense to save the cash—and desk space— to to with the K70 and use iCue to assign the occasional macro to a key sequence.

Low Profile came in an elongated brown corrugated cardboard box from Ryder Integrated Logistics in Ontario, California, USA. It doesn’t quite feel like a membrane keyboard, but it doesn’t quite feel like a mechanical keyboard either. The Corsair K70 RGB has one incline setting and comes with a basic wrist rest that feels a bit hard and not as plushy as the Corsair K95 RGB PLATINUM XT. The Cherry MX Brown switches we tested are light to press, great for gaming, and offer a great overall typing quality.

Low Profile Rapidfire ein rundum solides und größtenteils gut verarbeitetes Gesamtpaket bietet, rechtfertigen selbst die exklusiven Low-Profile-Taster nicht den hohen Preis von 190 Euro. Lastly, the cable it comes with is thick and well-made, but if there are any kinks in it, they're hard to remove. The difference between US and UK pricing is a bit tough to swallow on this side of The Pond, but it isn't out of line with what competitors are charging for similar models, so the award stands. I have to admit it is hard to pinpoint the exact reason, but I would say it had a truly outstanding design and high quality feel that is yet to be met by anything that came across my desk here at APH Networks in the last ten years.

This is particularly apparent on the rear shelf and low lip along the front of the K70, which catch the light brilliantly and, we suspect, have as much an aesthetic purpose as they do a practical one. The visually cramped keycaps are actually pretty well suited to typing, with a harsh angle to their dished tops making for a very definite key feel.

Obviously as the name indicates you get that cool RGB lighting (per key configurable), and with the all-new iCUE software you can animate, and add some macros and profiles with your RGB setup all synced up from the iCUE software suite. You can really tell this keyboard will last years, like all of Corsair's products it is sturdy and practical while having a sleek design. The two generations come packaged with a detachable rubberized wrist rest and a set of gray textured keycaps for FPS or MOBA players. While this is a highly unlikely scenario, since you have only ten fingers, this is as good as it can get.

However, if you need a keyboard with a Windows lock key, consider the Das Keyboard Model S Professional. However, if you’re gonna shell out money for this keyboard, consider getting the version that has the PBT keycaps as it’s only slightly more expensive and the keycaps will last a lot longer before becoming worn and gross. We've also added new objective evaluations to the Typing Noise test, and we've simplified several tests and removed several others that were no longer relevant.Low Profile Mechanical Gaming Keyboard combines the all-day comfort of low-profile, low travel keys, with the performance of CHERRY® MX mechanical keyswitches and stunning RGB lighting. Am I confident that it’ll be around for the long run to keep improving on the foundation that this generation started?
