I thought Liam was going to come to terms with their relationship but he issued an ultimatum and she didn’t choose her twin brother. Teens, children, whoever the fuck else this book is marketed to, if your partner intentionally uses your weaknesses to hurt you and refuses to listen to you, maybe rethink the relationship.

I feel this could be a sister movie to She's The Man which was adapted from my favourite play Twelfth Night.Maeve- daughter to the home team’s football coach AND twin sister to Liam, their home team’s starting quarterback; double whammy! Homegirl was a Mary Sue but she was the only character with some semblance of depth in this entire book. These characters absolutely come to life on the page, their romance, their frustration with their circumstance, and the entire scenario. Maeve and Wes are from different towns in the same lake, where the sports rivalry between the high schools is intense. It was nicely shown - they shared some really cute moments together and Wes proved to be a real dear, despite his star stature as the imposing captain of the football team. When it did happen, even though they weren't on speaking terms they still showed up for each other when it came to their games (he plays american football and she plays soccer aka real football lol). If it was not for their own tryst, this little appreciations may have gone unwarranted for a lot longer - so, in a way, there was some good that came out of their secret liaison. For me, I’m a bit critical when it comes to YA because of the impressionable audience it targets and the harmful, irresponsible messages that can be relayed to them. La relación entre ellos ha sido muy bonita, como han confiado el uno en el otro y como han luchado por dejar atrás la rivalidad entre ambas ciudades.

I see myself reading this simply because it had the brother’s rival trope and it’s one of my favorites. I will say I got a little frustrated towards the end as I felt like Meave did the sucking up and would of been nice for Wes to be told about Matt by Liam and for Wes to show a little more remorse regarding his kiss with another girl. And when I come across him again senior year, it turns out that knowledge is even more dangerous than his suggestive smirk .Those reasons have never made sense, though, and they’ve become sillier and sillier the more time I’ve spent with Maeve.

but a steady 4⭐️ because the romance, their secret dates, the longing, the everything between them was perfect. I didn’t love the miscommunication/ third act break up, but then I had to remind myself that the MCs are in high school and what happened can be quite realistic. Anyways, I wouldn’t have had as much problems with the aforementioned things if this book was under a different genre, but it’s a YA, very pg book. Os personagens que agiram como conflito amoroso entre eles também foi muito bem desenvolvido e não pareceu uma "encheção" de salsicha como geralmente é em histórias assim.

This was such a fun time, I was smiling so much it hurt and crying a bit at the end cause things got too real, and I didn't want it to be over. Her success was so overly looked, she won, she played she was involved and they overlooked her like she was nothing.
