About this deal

The DadPad app is an easy-to-use, freely downloadable resource for new dads and dads-to-be in the Derbyshire area, packed with relevant information, as well as details on local support groups and service providers. The child development part is my favourite bit, but there’s things in there, like things about mental health, that I didn’t know about and that I didn’t know you needed to know about. South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust is responsible for the writing, publishing and updating of the content on this page. There are also details of local support groups for new dads and sources of help available in Solihull.

The DadPad was created because babies don’t come with a set of instructions, and dads told us they wanted important information on what to expect and how to care for their baby. As well as providing general information to fathers and families, the DadPad has been customised to include local Stoke-on-Trent support groups and services, along with links to the Stoke-on-Trent Community Directory which is regularly updated. Caroline Saywood, Local Maternity and Neonatal System Lead Digital Midwife said, 'Whether you’re a first-time dad or a fifth time dad, being a parent is a constant education where we have to keep learning. Having chosen to invest in including and engaging with dads-to-be, and wanting to encourage new dads to get involved and come forward with questions and issues they have throughout their partner’s pregnancy and beyond, the DadPad App is free to you. We expect that it will enable new dads to play an active role in helping improve the health and wellbeing outcomes families in the city.Although we hope that this DadPad will help you and your family with some of the questions and problems that may arise over the coming weeks, always remember that, if you're unsure about anything to do with your baby’s health, you should contact your midwife, health visitor or GP. Outside of the service working hours, you’ll receive a message back to inform you that your text will be responded to once the service reopens. Crucially, the app also provides dads with guidance on how to support and seek help (when needed) for their partners and themselves as they adjust to their new roles, and cope with the physical and emotional strains that this can place on individuals and relationships.

An exciting new parenting resource is being re-launched across Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly in 2016. Dads living in Barnsley can now benefit from a new app, DadPad, that provides practical advice on how they can support themselves, their partner and their baby, giving their child the best start in life. This easy-to-use resource for new dads and dads-to-be will give you the practical skills and knowledge you need to create a special bond with your baby and give them the best start in life. This is a fantastic, easy to use guide about safe baby care and how to support partners during the perinatal period. If your area doesn’t have a button, let us know and we’ll make contact with those who can make it happen! This will help us to ensure it’s a helpful resource, inform any changes and keep it up-to-date with what's important to local dads.

This will give you time to put your pack to good use and we’re sure you’ll have plenty to keep you busy before then! The DadPad app is packed with information to give new fathers guidance on how to develop the confidence and practical skills needed to help look after their babies’ physical and emotional needs. Devon County Council is responsible for the writing, publishing and updating of the content on this page. The DadPad app is a useful resource before baby arrives and after baby is born, and is designed to be used as a quick, on-the-go reference tool, allowing new dads to enjoy their babies and feel more confident about fatherhood. This 36 pages long guide is incredibly practical, with wipe-clean pages full of easy-to-use, supportive advice. DadPad is designed to reduce anxiety in a number of ways, for example, by helping dads gain confidence by getting involved with their baby’s care, as well as learning how to create a strong bond and build stronger family relationships.
