About this deal

A modification or “mod” is anything you do to your blaster that changes its looks, form, or functionality. Doing a custom paint job, adding your own accessories and parts, and working on the internals to increase power are all considered mods. In relation, the barrel attachment point is not suited for long barrels as the base is too thin, causing the barrels to be unstable. It does have a couple flaws, but overall I like it because of the multiple attachments you can use for other products, which I intend to try and the accuracy and overall customization that the gun has. 7/10 Reply Alpha Trooper CS-18 • Barrel Break IX-2 • Barricade RV-10 • Deploy CS-6 • LongStrike CS-6 • Rapid Fire AS-20 • Spectre REV-5 • Stampede ECS It may be considered a successor to the Stryfe, as both are battery-operated flywheel clip system blasters.

In the first part of this 'ible I will show you how to do some mods for beginner modders, people who are doing something like this for the first time. Note: Some of the plunger tubing pictured below has been cut out of the plunger for demonstration purposes. Do not do this EVER. A humble foam blaster can become anything from a dystopian “steampunk” gun to a clean cut weapon right out of science fiction. They can even mimic weapons out of video games and movies. The Nerf Recon uses a compact reverse plunger system which has small air volume with alot of excess plunger deadspace. These factors limit its range and power even after modifications. Because of its ability to be assembled in a wide range of formations, the Nerf N-Strike Recon CS-6 is able to be adapted for an equally wide range of cos-play and costume needs. So far, with the various mods and stronger aftermarket springs, i have only managed to get them to achieve 50-60ft ranges.

But thats the expected limitations of a compact blaster with smaller internal plunger components. After all, a Recon is basically a pistol sized blaster with add-on attachments. Unless they are fired at an angle to get more range, modded Recons have alot of natural limitations to range increases. The pre-recall Recon had an exposed plunger, which had the word "ARMED" written on the side and served as a priming indicator. In N-Strike: The Video Game Elite, there is a special color of Recon CS-6 called the Habanero as well as the Desert Recon. Step 1: Remove the bolt sled and plunger from the blaster. Unpin the plunger assembly from the bolt sled using a nail, small screwdriver, or punch. You can do this by inserting the nail, screwdriver, or punch into the hole that houses the retention pin and apply pressure. (Pic. 1-2)Even with the more advanced brass breech mods that i have done on a few Recons, i could only improve their performance abit more to achieve 60-70ft ranges. Step 2: Use gloves to hold the plunger tube and drill from the end that has the O-ring. It will take considerable pressure to get the bit to catch the plastic. Wearing a glove will prevent you from suffering a burn on your hand, should the bit catch the tubing and start to spin. (Pic. 4) The Recon has had four direct successors: the 2012 N-Strike Elite Retaliator, the 2015 N-Strike Modulus Recon MKII, the 2019 N-Strike Elite Recon CQ-12, and the 2021 N-Strike Modulus Recon MKIII. The air restrictor (AR) slows down the flow of air from the plunger to the dart. This device serves to reduce the blaster's power and prevent the plunger from slamming into the plunger tubing at full speed, drastically reducing the noise generated during firing.

Step 2: Remove screws. Be sure to make note of each screw's placement, because sizes differ. It is helpful to place the screws on the table in their original positions relevant to an outline of the blaster. There are a total of 15 screws. (Pic. 2) It's loading/unloading and manual bolt action firing mechanisms are similar to the Nerf Longshot, but in a more compact scale with the bolt slider situated on top instead. Both the Nerf Recon and Longshot can utilize the same parts and tactical attachments. In addition, both use the same 6-dart magazines and are only compatible with streamline foam darts.Alpha Trooper CS-18 • Deploy CS-6 • Longshot CS-6 • LongStrike CS-6 • Raider Rapid Fire CS-35 • Rayven CS-18 • Recon CS-6 • Stampede ECS SemperFire RF-100 | Icarus HM-7 | Hammerhead GL-1 | Burning Vengeance | Stampede Ghost | Gold Raider | Desert Recon | Jungle Spartan | Classic Longshot | Longstrike Falcon | Aquatic Hydra | Oak Icarus | Ultimate Vulcan | SemperFire Ultra | Mega Cerberus | Sharktooth | Grand Goliathan | Super Crusher Coop772 (2020-08-11). [REVIEW] Nerf Elite 2.0 Phoenix CS-6 | The New Stryfe (Video). YouTube. Retrieved on 2023-09-07. Probably the best gun out in the past 5 years and most would disagree, but I have made a list of rebutales. Step 2: Remove the plunger from the plunger tube and gently pry the O-ring out of its groove with a flat head screwdriver. Be careful not to damage the O-ring if you plan on reusing it. (Pic. 2)

For Compact form-factor, it'll be the Recon. Because of its modular design, it can be used just as a pistol, which makes it easier to maneuver around with. Modded ranges are around the same as the Raider (they share similiar internals). The oversized machine-gun style barrel is almost reminiscent of an epic modern or futuristic war film. The flip-up sight also enhances this feeling of being a piece of equipment those playing with it can use for “important missions.” For high Rate-of-Fire (RoF), it will be the Raider, with it's 35-dart drum magazine, it can usually outlast all other blasters in games. Being able to keep firing while others are busy reloading magazines is a very crucial advantage in games. In addition, its Slam-Fire mode allows users to rain down a constant barrage of shots on opponents, pinning them down... something the Longshot and Recon cannot do. Its possible for well modded Raiders to achieve up to 60-70 ft ranges. This mod is not only illegal but it really hurts so don’t shoot it at your friends/little brother/pet alpaca but note I said nothing about big sisters, just make sure when doing this you can run fast. I am not responsible for any injuries that may occur due to this mod. In addition to the flip-up sight, the N-Strike also comes with a dual-mode laser pointer that can help increase the accuracy of the shots being taken. This feature is great for late-night games being played in darker settings.

Conclusion: Without any refutes for modifications, this review IS NOT FOR MODDERS but more for people first starting out or trying to find either a secondary weapon, a new primary weapon or their first Nerf Gun. I gave it a 5 star on the pae but it’s more a 9.5, due to the fact that the regular one having one clip. If Nerf added a second clip or a different type of clip (18 drum?), thiswould be the perfect 10. Reply
