About this deal

In the UK, this episode aired before Peace and Quiet and Gordon and Spencer, so the British audience would not know who Murdoch and Spencer were. Fergus' theme composed by Robert Hartshorne was later reused in the eleventh series episode, Sir Handel in Charge. Murdoch is painted orange with green and red lining. He has smoke deflectors, on which he wears red nameplates with gold lettering. He also wears a memorial plaque in his cab, which reads "In Memory of David Mitton 1939-2008." An engine ignores another engine's advice and derails into water; the first was the fifth series episode, Something in the Air.

Although somewhat shy, Murdoch embraced the May Day festivities with happiness and joy. Decorated for the occasion, he became a beloved participant in the celebration, demonstrating his capacity to find contentment in communal gatherings. As a BR Standard Class 9F locomotive, Murdoch epitomizes strength and reliability. His ten drive wheels and robust design make him a vital asset in hauling heavy goods trains across the Main Line. Moreover, his orange livery with green and red lining, coupled with his distinctive smoke deflectors, makes him a memorable and beloved figure on the Island of Sodor. When Thomas arrives at the fishing village, there are dirty vans at both ends of his train, but when he goes over the bridge, both vans are at the front of the train. When Arthur takes them away, one of the vans is in the middle. Despite the episode being set in the Autumn season, the leaves on the trees are green, but when they fall, they are orange and red.

Despite being released as the first seventh series song, this was the last song composed by Mike O'Donnell and Junior Campbell. Item No. 8" was twenty-four "Wagon loads of flowers" for "Sc No 1". The set is given as "montage", and the "Shoot Date" is given as 15th December 2003.
