This didn't grab me like another thriller I won off Goodreads last year but it intrigued me enough that I was curious how it would turn out. The suspense gets amped up sometime after Daphne gets admitted to the mental hospital but nothing that had me scrambling to finish it as soon as possible.

This leads to Coraline wishing for things better in the real world than her own – a wish that is manifested In the parallel universe created by the Other Mother. However, she is encouraging and supportive of her daughter’s adventures and even suggests a few games for her daughter to play on her own. Mrs. Jones is ultimately captured by the Other Mother (along with Mr. Jones) and Coraline is forced to brave her fears and rescue her parents. The Other Mother is a beautiful and emotional trip inside the heart and mind of a 14 year old boy who frankly has a lot going on. Michael's story sometimes seems extraordinary but then again when you really think about it, it's not so much. Does he have more on his plate than some kids? Absolutely. But his thoughts and feelings are just like pretty much any teenager.

She applies for a new job as an archivist with a famous author, Schuyler Bennett in the Catskills--under Laurel's name and credentials! She gets the job. She takes her baby and together, they help the author, (who also happens to be the daughter of the former medical director/psychiatrist of Crantham Mental Institution), organize old papers and write a memoir. Coraline says they can play a finding-things game, where she'll find her parents and the souls of the other children. I have some specific examples I’d like to include to further explain my thoughts on “The Other Mother”. It is important to point out before I start this review that I don't actually have kids but I do a) work with children and b) enjoy reading, so those are my main qualifications for this book review.Winston explodes Jenry's world with one question: Why is the young man so interested in his son Jasper? It was Winston's daughter, Juliet, who was his mother's lover. Juliet is the parent he should be looking for-his another mother." The ending of both the novel and the movie shows Coraline escaping from the other world and returning to her own. Get ready: this book is a crazy, bewildering ride. It will also always have the distinction of being the novel I was reading on an airplane trip to San Diego when one of my five-year-old daughters threw up. Twice. So it will be memorable in several ways. :)

Coraline consistently feels ignored and forgotten by her mother and father, and she desperately searches for distractions from this emotional neglect. When Coraline visits the other world, she gains a different perspective on her parent's behavior. Instead of seeing her mom and dad maliciously, Coraline understands that they may just demonstrate their love in different, more indirect ways. Carol Goodman's The Other Mother is a psychological thriller that explores the difficulties of two new mothers, Laurel and Daphne, who meet at a mother-baby group. This article is an Incomplete Article, it requires editors to improve it. The Sweet Ghost Girl DollMr. Bobo is the “crazy old man” who lives in the flat above Coraline’s flat. He trains a rat circus day in and day out. His rats prove to be a valuable asset to Coraline, as they provide useful information to her twice in the novel. However, much to the exasperation of Coraline, Mr. Bobo keeps calling her “Caroline” instead of “Coraline.” The thing that took away from this gripping story was the ending. It was rushed, impractical and disappointing, especially after such a strong build up. Regardless of this, I still loved the journey this book took me on – it was an unforgettable and extremely enjoyable crazy ride! I look forward to reading more from this very talented author!

Alternating in points of view and time periods, the complete picture of the complex relationships amongst all his family members emerge. And, nothing is as seems and what it means to be parent is at stake. This was a riveting read. Coraline essays are academic essays for citation. These papers were written primarily by students and provide critical analysis of Coraline by Neil Gaiman.I was given this book by Netgalley in return for a review – thank you to the publisher, Netgalley and the author. I am a fan of the book you don’t understand until the final twist, the book you have to read three times in a row to understand. This is reminiscent of “Shutter Island”, “A Cure for Wellness”, and I dunno, some other crazy books. We follow Daphne, who has brought her child with her away from her husband, to begin working as an archivist for her favorite author. However, Daphne is using false credentials from a mother she befriended in their post-partum mommies group. This light and humorous book take us through Jen and partner Chloe deciding to get pregnant and their lives until their offspring turn four. There were some fantastic twists. Every time I thought I knew what was going on, it turned out I was wrong. Mr. Jones, or Charlie Jones, Coraline’s real father, works from home in the Pink Palace Apartments in Oregon, and barely has time to spare for his daughter. He spends most of his time at his desk and does not even look up whenever Coraline asks him a question. The constant parental neglect that Coraline is subjected to prompts Coraline to amuse herself. As a result, she becomes much more self-sufficient than any girl her age. However, the father-daughter duo loves each other despite being emotionally distant from one another.
