The Ender 3 Neo requires a substantial amount of work to assemble, even though Creality ships it partially assembled. Out of the box, it takes at least an hour to assemble and set up, and may take longer if you are not experienced with 3D printers. Each has their strengths. The magnetic bed allows for easy pop-off print removable seconds after a print finishes thanks to its flexible properties, while the glass bed on the Ender 3 V2 offers first-rate first layer adhesion and also allows prints to come off with little effort once the bed has cooled down. That said, if your budget is constrained and you don’t mind tinkering with gadgets, then the Ender 3 Neo is a great buy too. It’s definitely not a compromise in terms of print quality or performance. The power recovery feature is a convenient feature that is now standard on the Ender 3 Neo series. It protects your work-in-progress 3D prints against interruptions due to power outages. You can resume the 3D printing from where it stopped and continue the process without any hiccups. If your power is out for an extended period of time, it’s unlikely you’ll be able to resume the print because the bed will have cooled and released the partially-printed model, but if you live in an area with frequent power hiccups, this feature can save your in-progress prints. Differences between the Ender 3 Neo and Ender 3 V2 NeoTo work the display, you have to rotate the knob, which takes you through the different options. To select an option, you push on the knob, which makes a rather loud popping sound. A BigTreeTech SKR board can be used as a drop in replacement (in case you want, say, independent dual Z motor control). It has been reported that the skr mini e3 v3 will work. (Thanks u/Lamb-thesheep.) Note that the skr mini e3 does not provide two Z axis drivers even thought it has two headers for the Z axis. In other words, it can't move a dual Z axis independently. So, we printed the halloween mini-pumpkin on the left at 0.1 mm, and the one on the right at 0.2 mm. This is what they looked like. The full metal Bowden extruder enables higher extrusion force. Thanks to an integrated rotary knob, feeding and removing the filament is much smoother.

As with most Creality printers, the Ender 3 V2 and Ender 5 Pro are both upgrade-friendly devices with open designs that facilitate modification and add-ons. It’s something the Ender community has embraced, and you’ll find a huge wealth of options out there from 3D printed parts to third-party parts to improve your printer. At 60 mm/s, the print on the left turned out practically as perfect as can be. When we increased the print speed to 90 mm/s, we noticed some slight stringing between the holes of the drain, but overall it was still a pretty solid print and still came out very circular. Both come with well-guided instructions and it’s a case of attaching the gantry and plugging in a few cables. The Ender 5 Pro is arguably a tad more challenging due to the design of the printer, but we’re talking an extra few minutes for most people so hardly a major difference.The biggest addition in the Neo series is automatic bed leveling as a standard feature. Creality has now made their CR-Touch automatic bed leveling system the new standard among low-end 3D printers by installing it on both the Ender 3 Neo and Ender 3 V2 Neo. The CR-Touch probe automatically probes 16 different points on the bed to identify potential unevenness on the platform and uses that information to automatically adjust the bed during the printing process. In short, we think the Ender 3 V3 SE is an excellent value for the money, and a printer you should consider. If you’re buying new, the Ender 3 V3 is the clear better choice - the only reason to go with the Ender 3 V2 Neo is if you’re able to find it at a substantially lower price than the Ender 3 V3 SE. To test the Ender 3’s print quality at higher speeds, we printed these two little sink drains at two different speeds.
